We’re pleased to share the successful completion of a new dining hall extension at Ince CE Primary and Nursery School – a project that reflects both the school’s growth and its commitment to enhancing the student experience.

Appointed as principal contractor, we delivered this modern, functional space on time and to a high standard, providing a much-needed increase in capacity and improved flow for daily lunchtime service.

We constructed a single-storey extension, complete with the following:

  • Mechanical and electrical upgrade
  • Full vinyl flooring upgrade
  • Decoration throughout
  • Installation of electric automated roof opening skylights
  • Installation of fitted furniture seating area

This project presented two major challenges: working within a live school environment and the added complexity of various changes to the specification – both of which our team navigated with professionalism and precision.

To assure student safety and uninterrupted learning, we implemented:

  • Strict safeguarding measures, including DBS-cleared operatives, secure work zones and clear site boundaries
  • Noise and dust control procedures to minimise disruption to classes and gym activities
  • Regular liaison with school leadership and facilities teams to keep communication open and responsive

Like many education projects, the scope evolved during the build and required a flexible approach throughout. Through strong collaboration, changes were implemented efficiently and internal works re-sequenced where necessary to avoid delays and maintain critical path progress. Our ability to respond quickly and keep the project on track came down to one thing: clear and consistent communication.

We are pleased to say that despite potential delays due to the live working environment and the specification changes, this project was handed over 2 weeks ahead of schedule.

This project has clearly achieved the objectives of improving the lunchtime experience and reducing overcrowding for the students of Ince CE Primary and Nursery School. Staff at the School were delighted with the end result and have praised the way the project was handled from start to finish.
